Obituary

RODERICK REMPEL February 21, 2000 March 14, 2016 It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear son and brother, Roderick LaRay Rempel. He is lovingly remembered and cherished by his parents, Jake and Lisa; brother, Tyler; sister, Angeline; grandparents, treasured family and friends. Roderick's arrival into our family was welcomed with great joy and gratitude. It was a gift we had been anticipating and for which we had prayed for several years. Roderick filled our world with laughter and love and each day was truly a gift from God. Roderick accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age and has stayed true to that commitment to serve Him. He never doubted his faith in Jesus. Roderick had a high level of energy and kept us on our feet from the day he started running. At age five while public skating a coach approached us and asked if we'd allow Roderick to play hockey. He was so excited and scored a goal his very first game. Since then he has played with passion and pride always giving his best. He played AAA city midget hockey for the Winnipeg Sharks. Aside from hockey, Roderick loved dirt biking, snowboarding, hunting and target shooting, he was a natural athlete and loved all kinds of sports. Roderick attended Mennonite Brethren Collegiate. Roderick had a way with children and loved to babysit his cousins. Although we still own the farm, we moved closer to the city when Roderick was 10. He has a passion and pride for the farm, and hoped to take it over one day. Roderick loved to talk business and make plans for his future in farming, and was looking forward to the trip we had planned to a poultry convention this past week. Roderick was always happy and had a smile on his face. He was full of energy and loved life. He picked himself up when he fell, and persevered through difficult times, and this is what he would want all of us to do now. Roderick will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. A private family interment will follow.
